MESSAGE FROM MAJOR MOCKABEE
Thank you for visiting The Salvation Army Georgia Division website. This is a great way to meet you and share news about The Salvation Army in Georgia.
I am sure that you will be pleased to know that throughout Georgia, The Salvation Army is “Doing the Most Good” making a difference in the lives of men, women, boys and girls through high impact intervention services and community-based youth development activities.
Many who come to The Salvation Army feel left out of many of life's blessings. Many are just seeking to get through the day and have their physical needs met. Some lack hope because they have yet to find acceptance and love. Still others need spiritual answers to questions that are troubling them.
This website is a place where you can read about how people are finding hope and rediscovering life at The Salvation Army. It is also the place where our friends can keep abreast of Salvation Army news. We hope you will visit this website often.
On behalf of those we serve, I thank all of our generous donors and volunteers for all you do to help those in need. The Salvation Army is able to continue “Doing The Most Good” thanks to your contributions of time, talents and resources. Please take a good look at our website to see the latest news and to see how your involvement with us makes a difference!
God bless!
Major William G. Mockabee

DOING THE MOST GOOD
Statement by Major William Mockabee
"Doing the Most Good" has become the branding promise of The Salvation Army. It is not a statement of arraogance implying competition with the outreach efforts of others, but a promise that we make to donors and individuals who come to us for service, that we are doing the most good we can with the gifts we have been given. The Salvation Army takes very seriously the fact that on a national average, 83 cents of every dollar goes directly into program services at the local level.
In addition to maximizing contributions, we are able to offer to clients who come to our doors every kind of service that addresses life's challenges. Many of our stakeholders have indicated to us that they give to The Salvation Army because they get a great return on their investment and it allows The Salvation Army to get a return on its mission.
Another pledge that may not be apparent in the statement of "Doing the Most Good" is an encompassing brand which includes the five personality traits of being: compassionate, passionate, trustworthy, uplifting and brave. At every point of contact with The Salvation Army, it is our commitment through our efforts to make sure that The Salvation Army shield behaves with those personality traits. We are looking for individuals as donors, volunteers and employee team members who want to positively affect their world. There is bridging of the gap between private sector and public nonprofit offierings which compels The Salvation Army to determine the spiritual bottom line which is the transformation of men and women, boys and girls.
"Doing the Most Good" is only the brand vision. If its substance is not manifested by the five personality traits, then we have dropped the ball. Our prayer is that every person who experiences our works will feel the power of our brand whether they are donors or recipients of The Salvation Army's services.
