Thanks For your Generosity in 2011!

Thank you for supporing The Salvation Army of Georgia this past year by donating, volunteering, advocating and being a champion.

Because of your generous support, last year The Salvation Army in Georgia served over  666,656 meals, served 972,712 men, women and children through programs including boys & girls clubs, music education programs, Bible study & support programs and worship services, sent over 13,209 children to camp, provided 67,756 with job training skills, distributed 183,043 toys to children, and provided medical, energy and housing assistance to 155,379.

Cindy and her family of LaGrange, Georgia said, "The Salvation Army gave me warms meals, a roof over my head, and the skills I needed to make new life. They gave me a second chance..."

gainesville christmas givingThanks Caitlin for Being a Shield this Holiday Season!

Caitlin Fink is a senior at West Hall High School who started collecting toys last Christmas season for The Salvation Army. The first year she collected 50 new toys along with stuffed animals. This year as part of her community action service project in the IB program she collected 219 toys.


Caitlin plans on passing this project on to someone else to continue and she also plans on continuing it herself in college next year.

 

Salvation Army of Gainesville serves more than 700 families with Christmas distribution

This year The Salvation Army distributed food and toys from a vacant warehouse at the old Chicopee plant on Atlanta Highway. Danielle Cunningham with the Salvation Army said the donation of that site allowed the ministry to serve a total of 706 families this year, 100 more than last year, which totaled over 2,000 kids.
